Srinagar, Mar 28 (KNO): The residents of Zainakote area of HMT in Srinagar staged a protest against what they termed as inadequate electricity supply being to them in the ongoing month of Ramadan. The protesters said that they reel under darkness during the ongoing sacred month, especially at the time of Iftar and Suhoor. A local resident, speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, “We are facing immense hardships due to the erratic power supply. It's disheartening as our religious observances are hindered by frequent power outages.” Another resident, Fatima, said, “We rely on electricity for cooking and preparing for prayers. The lack of a consistent power supply disrupts our daily routines, making it challenging to observe Ramadan with peace.” Moreover, the protesters urged authorities to take immediate action to resolve the electricity crisis in the area—(KNO)
